In the firm, Ong Johnson is responsible to oversee most of the contentious and non-contentious matters within Malaysia, and is credited for establishing the Competition Law and Corporate Regulatory practice in the Firm, by advising on issues such as the compliance matters, compulsory by-laws licensing and regulations, intellectual property rights, joint ventures, commercial transactions, acquisition of companies and shares, restructuring and insolvency, defamation and employment matters.
Ong Johnson has conducted trials and hearings before Industrial Courts, Subordinate Courts, High Courts, and Appellate Courts, and he has been entrusted by the Managing Partner to undertake some of the most challenging transactions and dispute matters, where he regularly works directly with directors, in-house counsels, and human resources in providing his legal advice and assistance.
Ong Johnson has a First Class (Honours) Degree in Law from the University of Liverpool, received an offer to study Masters of Law (LLM) at the University of Cambridge, and was awarded a Certificate of Achievement on Contract Law from Harvard University.
